Amalia Adiv is an actor, writer, educator, and a proud mom working in the arts. She is most passionate about bringing stories to life that unearth the messiness of motherhood and the complexity of Jewish identity.
As an actor, Amalia was recently seen onstage with the Denver Center for Performing Arts in their 2025 immersive production of Sweet & Lucky: Echo. Other recent credits include Dontrell, Who Kissed the Sea (Aurora Fox Arts Center) and Colorado Shakespeare Festival's educational touring company. In 2023, she joined Fiasco Theater's Free Training Initiative cohort in New York. Amalia holds an MA from NYU in Educational Theatre, with an emphasis on Applied Theatre and verbatim interview theatre, and holds a BA in Jewish Studies and Theatre from City College of New York.
Amalia's solo play, Mom & Baby Are Doing Great, weaves the story of her own birth and postpartum experience with the voices of other women, drawn from dozens of personally conducted interviews. The piece has been workshopped twice, and received a grant from the Denver Arts District for further development in 2026. Amalia is also writing another solo piece, Rendezvous Way, which has been shared at the Barrow Group and Barn Arts Collective Artists Residencies.
Amalia has conducted research and written curriculum for the Verbatim Performance Lab, and has appeared as an actor in multiple Lab projects including Of a Certain Age, "The Serena Williams Project," and "Portraits US: COVID 19." She was a member of Boulder Ensemble Theatre Company's 2023-2024 Writers Group which debuted a collection of short works in 2024.
With a background in early childhood, Amalia has a passion for engaging young children in performing and storytelling. She develops classes for preschool aged children that use process drama and imaginative play to foster social and emotional growth. Amalia also teaches research based theatre and verbatim workshops to students of all ages.
Outside of theatre, Amalia is a certified perinatal coach and a postpartum doula. She works with women during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum to better understand, appreciate, and care for their changing bodies.
